Development of Radiation Control System for Nuclear Power Plants
FAPIG No. 165 pp.3〜8 (2003)

We have renewed Radiation Control System for the Tomari Nuclear Power Plant of the Hokkaido Electric Power Company, March 2003. For the system, we adopted for the first time a screen display for the online browsing system developed for Nuclear Power Plants of Electric Power Companies, deployed a workflow which meets to the radiation control purposes. The system enables the user to drastlically reduce documentation workload such as application and notification, and to extract in a desired format the company's data, particulary the data of personal exposure. In addition, we provided the monitoring and autoalarm features in case of emergency of system's status or managed data system.

Development of a Remote Control System in the Humanoid Robotics Project
FAPIG No. 165 pp.9〜15 (2003)

The target of the "Humanoid Robotics Project" (called HRP) is to find some suitable applications for humanoid robots. In the former two years, the platform system (as for common base of R&D) was developed, and in the latter three years, element technologies as for applications was developed. In HRP, KHI developed two types of the remote control system, the super cockpit and the portable remote control device. By using the remote control system, the tele-operated humanoid robot succeeded in driving industrial vehicles. This was the first experiment in the world. As the portable remote control device was developed to improve the property of operation, we expect that it would be applied not only to humanoid robots but also to other applications for remote control system.

Non-Destructive Detection of Delaminated Defects of Structural Members Using
Laser-Ultrasonic Technique
FAPIG No. 165 pp.16〜20 (2003)

In this paper, an experimental study on laser-sonic technique for non-destructive inspection of defect of concrete structure is described. Using the concrete specimens with and without artificial defects, the propagation times from the irradiation point to the sensor are evaluated and compared. The wave diffraction by the defect is discussed by finite elememt wave propagation analysis. We propose an inspection method of delaminated defects in concrete, using the measured ultrasonic wave propagation time. The detection method is based on a kind of inverse analysis. The results of the analysis were in good agreement with the defects placed in concrete speccimens.

Hydrogen Refueling Station in Hamburg and Norsk Hydro
FAPIG No. 165 pp.21〜26 (2003)

Nissho Iwai Corp., who became a sole agent of electrolyser made by Norsk Hydro ASA in 1992, and its subsidiary, e-Energy Corp. in cooperation are doing its sales to Japanese market. As an accelerating trend to hydrogen society in Japan, USA and EU, there are JHFC project in Japan and CUTE project in EU. I visited the hydrogen refueling station at Hamburg, which is one of the CUTE project cities, under construction in June 2003 before the opening at September 15, 2003. Norsk Hydro built the station and uses the electrolyser there. We introduce the electrolyser and the station.

Construction of Temperature Engineering Test Reactor Spent Fuel Storage Facility
FAPIG No. 165 pp.28〜34 (2003)

The purpose of the spent fuel storage facilities of HTTR (High Temperature Engineering Test Reactor) is store the spent fuel for long term in HTTR site after cooling in the spend fuel pool in reactor building on certain period. Fuji Electric Co., Ltd. received orders in bulk of all interior equipment of the spent fuel handling equipment, the storing equipment, the ventilation air-conditioning equipment, the radiation watches, and the management equipment, etc. in October, 1998.
Afterwards, production, the installation, and the examination of the spent fuel storage facilities of HTTR were completed in December, 2001.
Here, it introduces the construction of the spent fuel storing facilities.

Mobile Solution Demanded Now
FAPIG No. 165 pp.35〜41 (2003)

It has passed four and a half year since i-mode service lunched from NTT DoCoMo in 1999.
The Enterprise is interested in how to utilise mobile internet including mobile phone in their business scene.
Here, the one hidden in the background explains what something mobile solution requested to the enterprise is.
Moreover, introduces the trend and the mobile solution composition of the market based on the mobile solution use case with Fujitsu.
