That event, called "democracy crisis", was setteled in peace, it however had Franceユs pride badly hurt. Thinking about what Franceユs pride is with reviewing the election and French modern history, it comes to seem that the current French national policy is very closely linked with its pride. KEYWORDS:France's Presidential Election in 2002, French modern history, the 5th Republic in France, French nuclear policy, French position in the European integration Hiroshi Takahashi, Shinji Ozaki In March 29, 2003, the ATR (Advanced thermal reactor) Fugen has finished
the mission of development as the prototype reactor and terminated the
operation since 25 years from the first critical. During this operation,
Fugen accomplished as follows ; Total generating power amount about
219kWh, the average facility utilization rate was 62%, the refueling
counted 4700 times (New fuel and reloading fuel). KEYWORDS:fuel handling machine, Fugen, advanced thermal reactor, improvement, result of operation, maintenance, contamination Yuichiro Mori, Yutaka Takeuchi, Kiyotaka Matsunami, Kazuhiko Kosaki,
Tomio Suzuki, Motomitsu Hayashi, Kiyoshi Ide In relation to the aging of LWR, the Irradiation Assisted Stress Corrosion
Cracking (IASCC) has been regarded as a significant and urgent issue
for the reliability of in-core components of LWR, therefore the irradiation
research project which was planned by Nuclear and Industrial Safety
Agency is now being done under the cooperation of Industry-Government-Academia
such as Japan Nuclear Energy Safety Organization, Institute of Research
and Innovation (IRI), Central Research Institute of Electric Power Industry,
Japan Atomic Energy Research Institute (JAERI), power companies, makers
of LWR, and universities. Then at Japan Material Testing Reactor (JMTR)
of JAERI, the irradiation test of the material for BWR is being carried
out. KEYWORDS:LWR, IASCC, in-core components, irradiation test, BWR, JMTR Akira Usui The Electric Utility Industry Law of Japan was modified again in May,
1999. This has enabled any power products suppliers of specific scale
to sell electric power on a retail basis. KEYWORDS:gas turbine, aero derivative, FT-8, combined cycle, power plant, power products supplier, liberalization Yoshitaka Seta, Mitsuhide Ushio Kawasaki Heavy Industries, Ltd. has developed a brand new spot joining process for aluminum alloys and exhibited the system at 2003 International Robot Show in Tokyo. In the process, named Friction Spot Joining (FSJ), a joining tool that has a small pin at the tip is rotated and plunged into lapped plates to be joined. Material around the pin is softened due to the friction heat and stirred by rotational motion of the tool. This unique and simple solid phase joining process has remarkable advantages in comparison with conventional resistance spot welding and riveting, such as low energy consumption, smaller deformation and higher reliability of the joint. KEYWORDS:Friction Spot Joining (FSJ), Aluminum alloys, Robot system, Spot welding process, Riveting, Joining tool Toshikazu Morohoshi, Kazuo Sato, Kenji Saito, Sachie Iso While the earth observation technology by artificial satellites has
come into use practically in recent years and been expected to be applied
to the field of disaster prevention surveillance, the validity of the
technology in the practical use is becoming bigger theme. KEYWORDS:the real-time disaster monitoring, satellite SAR, supercomputer system, Tsukuba WAN, international joint research project Kazuyuki Matsuzawa, Isao Kojima, Yasuhiro Ohashi, Haruhiko Torita,
Koshiro Nishimura, Katsuki Takiguchi It is necessary to ensure safety to various loads about important structures,
such as nuclear facilities, and the impact load caused by aircraft collision
is also one of them. Commonly, reinforced concrete (RC) slabs are adopted
to protection design against impact load, but the steel plate reinforced
concrete (SC) slabs are expected to have higher impact-resistance capacity
compared to RC slabs due to the effect of the steel plates of concrete
surfaces. KEYWORDS: steel plate reinforced concrete, impact-resistance capacity, rigid missile, local damage, impact experiment, formula for perforation thickness |
