SYNOPSES

Kazuhiko Nitta, Hiroyuki Umetsu, Masaaki Takahashi, Hiroshi Hosoda Activity of ISO9001:2015 Certification that Fujielectric Co.,LTD (Nuclear Power Plant) Perfomed FAPIG No. 193 pp.4 to 10 (2017) The ISO 9001: 2015 edition was issued in September 2015. This revision is said to be a major revision that the requirements were strengthened aiming to be a standard that can be used stably for the next 10 years or more. For the certification of transition to the 2015 version of the organization that is acquiring the certification of ISO 9001: 2008 version, a grace period of 3 years is stipulated. We planned to migrate in our nuclear power plant sector in two years, carried out various activities and completed transition certification as planned. In this paper, we introduce the background of the revision of the 2015 edition, contents of revisions, various activities until our company reaches transition certification, and the outline of quality management system that we constructed as a result. Masaaki Nakano, Kazutaka Ohashi, Koji Okamoto Introduction of Research and Development Status of Security and Safety Fuel for Pu-burner HTGR and Safety Analyses Under Depressurization Accidents FAPIG No. 193 pp.11 to 15 (2017)

Fuji Electric is developing the Security and Safety Fuel for Pu-burner HTGR, in collaboration with University of Tokyo, Japan Atomic Energy Agency and Nuclear Fuel Industries, which can decrease surplus plutonium and obtain energy. The objectives of this study are to enhance nuclear security and safety with developing of PuO2-YSZ fuel kernel and its coating, to evaluate core and safety design, and to establish the security and safety system concept over its life cycle. This paper describes the status of this study and a part of safety evaluation carried out by Fuji Electric. This study is the result of "Development of Security and Safety Fuel for Plutonium Burner HTGR" carried out under the Innovative Nuclear Research and Development Program by the Ministry of Education, Culture, Sports, Science and Technology of Japan. Improvement of the Performances of Condensate Demineralizers in Nuclear Power Plants (1) Summary of Condensate Demineralizing Technologies in Nuclear Power Plants FAPIG No. 193 pp.16 to 20 (2017)

In nuclear power plants, it is needed to keep the water quality of reactors or steam generators extremely clean from the viewpoints of the reduction of the radiation exposure and maintenance of the reliability of plant materials. In order to meet these requirements, the role of the condensate demineralizers and the ion exchange resins are very important. Furthermore, the requirements of water quality have been upgrading compared to them in 1970's.
In these 4 reports, the performances and these improvements of condensate demineralizers and ion exchange resins are introduced. On this first report, the summary of condensate demineralizing technologies is reported.
